Purpose Statement
The purpose of givemetruth.net, an interactive Fundamentalist community, is to develop a network of edifying relationships, to nurture a sincere pursuit of and love for the truth, and to cultivate an environment in which believers can be conformed to the image of Christ for the glory of God.
Our Philosophy
Networking
Many Australian young people live in places where they're isolated from other young people who love the Lord. Because real fellowship is vital to our spiritual survival, we need to network. This means we use technology for the glory of God in building a community where we can grow together. What you see here is only the surface. Much of the activity goes on below the surface in personal messages, texts, phone calls, and at various church activities. The point is relationships. The relationships we build at camps and conferences are good, but GMT allows us to maintain those relationships year-round!
Truth
Truth can stand on its own in the marketplace. That's why we're developing an open environment in which people can feel comfortable to share. Young people have questions and that's ok. We feel that GMT is a safe place to express views and have them challenged. In order to protect this type of environment, belligerence, unnecessary schism, and personal assaults are simply not tolerated. Any view that is right can be defended rationally and in a Christ-like spirit.
Christ-likeness
God created us to bring pleasure to Himself and we want the atmosphere at GMT to do just that. If we're going to bring pleasure to God, our interaction must be marked by humility and love, even when confrontation and correction are necessary. It's not enough for a few people to try. Everyone at GMT must make it their personal responsibility to see that God is pleased with what goes on. That way GMT will be a place where believers can grow as they provoke each other to love God and do right.
