InFocus in Focus

The hiatus is over. I’m looking forward to getting back in the groove and am excited about what lies ahead. The last several months have given me a chance to think and re-focus and I wanted to share a little of what’s come out of that. First, a purpose statement. It’s nothing deep, but it does give an idea of who we are and what we’re trying to do.

Our purpose is to develop the Australian blogosphere, to cultivate serious and useful discussion, and to develop a generation of readers, thinkers, and theologians.

Notice I didn’t say “pastors.” That’s because the great commission calls for the maturing of the saints, not just the pastors. Every believer ought to be a reader, a thinker, and a theologian. Our target audience is the younger generation of Australian fundamentalists, particularly in the 20’s and 30’s age bracket.

Several other developments are worth mentioning. Alen Basic has recently begun to get involved with InFocus and has already put up quite a few BlogWatch entries. I’m glad to have him on the team!

Finally, in keeping with our desire to develop mature readers, thinkers, and theologians, we’re working on getting a team of pastors who will be writing on a semi-regular basis for InFocus. Several articles are in the editing stage now and I look forward to getting them up over the coming weeks.

    Jason,

Thanks for stating your purpose so clearly. I whole-heartedly agree that it is very important for every believer to read, think, and understand theology. Michael Barrett put it so aptly, “Right thinking about the gospel produces right living in the gospel.” May the Lord use InFocus to help raise a new generation of right thinkers and right livers in the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ!

  2. Sister Elizabeth. Says:

    I am excited.

“Our target audience is the younger generation of Australian fundamentalists, particularly in the 20’s and 30’s age bracket.”

    excellent.

  3. Armen Says:

Looking forward to future posts and discussion brother.
