I would that some of you who are absent from the prayer-meeting upon any little excuse would reflect how much you rob us all. The prayer meeting is an invaluable institution, ministering strength to all other meetings and agencies. Are there not many of you who might by a little pinching of your time and pressing your labours come among us a little oftener? And what if you should lose a customer now and then, do you not think that this loss could be well made up to you by your gains on other days? Or if not so, would not the spiritual profit much more than counterbalance any little temporal loss? 'Not forgetting the assembling of yourself together as the manner of some is.'"

C.H. Spurgeon.

I received this excerpted quote in an email from my Pastor today..it's interesting how true these words speak to us even today in our church congregation.

Our Pastor did a sermon last Sunday on prayer and it was quite interesting especially considering the general genie approach we take to prayers.

I'd recommend listening to last weeks sermon, it was rather incredible.

I neglect prayer so much (amongst other things) so this was a real eye opener.

Hope it is a blessing for you all..

Thanks for both the quote and the message link, Alen! Both were really good and thought-provoking...and maybe a little convicting, too. :)
Thanks again!
