If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9

The same moment which brings the consciousness of sin ought to bring also the confession of it and the consciousness of forgiveness.

I read this devotional every now and again. I quite like it because it has very succinct devotional that you can really chew on throughout the day. It's a hit and miss sometimes but this one I appreciated it a lot on the particular day I read it..

That's good stuff, I've found that the amount I'm concerned over my sin is a good indication of how I'm doing spiritually, can be very confronting...

I agree, when I am least concerned over my sin that is when I am the greatest concerned over my spiritual state.

I checked the person who credit is given to is called: Smith.. so yeah that narrows that search down a bit..
